We all have our own interpretation of reality and that includes what we see as authenticity, vulnerability and even transparency. For me I see authenticity as showing up as yourself, as you are that day. Not where you want to be in the future, not where you have been in the past, but what you are today, in that very moment, within that second.

Because we change our minds, we change our behaviors, and we change our actions, all within the parameters of what we experience. Ah-ha moments happen instantly, epiphanies travel faster than the speed of light and your version of reality can change dramatically in a passing glance.

I’ll be authentic in what I’m sharing now…I resist vulnerability…like the plague. That’s past programing that I’m working through and dealing with today and most likely tomorrow as well.

And my coaches and teachers are helping me with this, because I myself teach authenticity and showing up as you are with your clients and building a passion-based business. And that means I need to walk my talk. There’s no judgement there, none by those I work closely with and none I put on myself. I am where I am and tomorrow I will be where I will be. What is a constant is my total devotion to working on me, so that I can show up as my best self each day, and there’s also this knowing that the journey of discovering what I can do is ongoing.

Which brings me to an amazing quote I found the other day, showing up when I needed it the most…

“Love is the only thing in this world that does not hurt.”

True on so many levels. Which is why I can say that whether we’re talking about the love you have for another person, the love you have for yourself, and/or the love you have for your business, that’s what carries us through.

As an entrepreneur you’ll find that…

Sometimes you hit a wall…

Sometimes you’ll make mistakes…

Sometimes you’ll want to quit…

And that’s OK. Really, that’s more than OK. When you’re on to something great, there’s always things that will come up. The love you put into your business, just as you would in any of your relationships, is what can carry you through these rough patches…these forks in the road…or these Goliath-sized walls that seem to be blocking your progress.

So what do you do when this happens?

You follow your intuition and you seek out support. Really, that’s the swiftest way through barriers. The support can be in the form of a coach, a conversation with a colleague or it can even be a brainstorm session you have with a friend or family member. And you’ll be amazed where support comes in from – happily it can come from places you never expected…from people you never expected.

Be open to the possibilities. We are all in this together and it’s not one man for his own.
