Being an entrepreneur is tough… really tough. According to Bloomberg, 8 out of 10 entrepreneurs who start businesses fail within the first 18 months (80% holy cow…).
I’m not trying to get you down with this stat, what I want to show you is that those who fail follow a certain pattern and I can help you dramatically improve your odds (read on :-))
As an entrepreneur, sometimes we jump in with both feet and quickly find out…
– You’re not making as much money as you thought you would
– You’re not gaining traction and visibility as quickly as you thought
– You’re stuck in the “I don’t knows,” and can’t seem to figure out what you’re next steps should be…
I’ve been an entrepreneur since 2009 and my business has shifted, re-shifted and re-shifted again. I’ve had amazing months, I’ve had crappy months and I’ve been consistent for period and inconsistent as well.
Here’s what I can tell you for certain…your business foundation is your BIGGEST asset.
Passion, drive, innovation, vision are so important for your business
These qualities are even better if they’re cemented into a strong foundation. If there are cracks in the foundation, they’ll be exposed as you’re grow and if not taken care of, your whole “house” will crash and burn.
How do you create a strong foundation in your business? There are 3 things you can do…
–> Write out a powerful mission statement – what is it you do and who do you help.
–> Write out 5 business core values – these are the guiding principles that dictate behavior and action in your business (and will keep you on the right path and help you fulfill business goals).
–> Write and know your ideal client (you can create up to 3 but I suggest starting with 1) and know them like the back of your hand
My mission is to help entrepreneurs be that 20%…the ones who have a strong base and build and build, leveling up and improving every day.
